Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has claimed that the Nana Akufo-Addo administration has set an unparalleled record in infrastructure development across Ghana.
Speaking in Ho on Tuesday, 22 October, during the commissioning of a newly constructed Ho Municipal Office complex, Dr Bawumia highlighted the government’s extensive infrastructure achievements over the past eight years.
Dr Bawumia, who is also the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), emphasized that no previous administration has matched the scale and impact of their infrastructure projects.
He pointed to developments in key areas such as roads, healthcare, and education as evidence of the government’s success.
According to the Vice President, the NPP government’s legacy will be remembered for its comprehensive infrastructure initiatives, which he believes have set a new standard for future administrations to follow.
“This government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has accomplished so much in the area of infrastructure development across the country,” he said, highlighting key sectors like roads, education, sports, the judiciary, and healthcare.
“Our government is second to none in the fourth republic when it comes to infrastructure, whether you’re talking about roads, schools, hospitals, courts, astroturf, public libraries, fish landing sites, or DRIP projects.”
Bawumia, who is campaigning to succeed President Nana Akufo-Addo, attributed the government’s success to a philosophy of equitable distribution.
“This philosophy that we’ve applied in putting infrastructure in place is to ensure there is equitable distribution across the regions so all districts can have comparable infrastructure, and that is what we’ve been doing.”
