The Director of Research and Elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Evans Nimako, has expressed satisfaction with the Electoral Commission's (EC) handling of ballot paper errors in the Ahafo and Volta regions.
The errors, which involved incorrect serial numbers, prompted the EC to announce a reprint of all affected ballot papers.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, November 16, Mr. Nimako commended the EC for its proactive approach, including convening an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting to discuss the issue.
“For us as the New Patriotic Party, we are satisfied...We really appreciate the EC’s decision to involve us in the discussions. It is their administrative responsibility,” he said.
“So far, we are okay but mindful of the timelines. We all need to work efficiently to avoid delays, as extensions could lead to additional costs,” he added.
According to him, the party’s main concern is ensuring the printed ballots meet the required standards without errors or inflation in numbers.
