The staff of Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) and Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL) as part of their Annual Thanksgiving Service 2024, embarked on a peace evangelism walk on Thursday, November 28.
The event, themed “Walk for Peace & Win Souls for Christ,” combined spreading the Gospel with advocating peace and unity ahead of Ghana’s December 7 elections.

The walk commenced at JGC’s premises and proceeded through the School Junction section of the Ashley Botwe-Nmai-Dzorn road in Accra.
Staff shared messages of Jesus Christ’s love and salvation with pedestrians, residents, and motorists while promoting harmony and peaceful coexistence.
Speaking to the media, Florence Larbi, COO for Environment and Cluster Sanitation at JGC, emphasized the importance of peace during election periods.

“This occasion is a time of gratitude to God for His faithfulness and the peace we have enjoyed as a nation,” she said.
“Jospong Group is committed to spreading this message of unity and harmony across Ghana.”
Mrs Larbi encouraged Ghanaians to maintain the country’s stability, urging them to join in preserving peace during the elections.

Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Sophia Kudjordji, highlighted the significance of the annual peace walk as an expression of gratitude to God.
She also called on Ghanaians to remember the importance of unity.

“With the upcoming elections, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that peace and stability prevail before, during, and after the process,” she noted.
During the event, Bishop Tackie-Yarboi of Victory Bible Church delivered an inspiring sermon, urging the congregation to focus on their unique journeys and avoid comparisons.

“True peace and fulfilment come from living a Christ-like life, not from pursuing fleeting trends or ideals often amplified on social media,” he said.
Bishop Tackie-Yarboi emphasized the need for intentional living, trusting in God’s plan, and celebrating individuality as paths to personal peace and spiritual growth.
Adding to the theme of peace, DSP Shaibu Alhassan Sabi, Lakeside District Commander, reassured the public of the police’s readiness to ensure safety during the elections.

He emphasised personal responsibility in maintaining peace and called on citizens to prioritize unity over political differences.
“The first line of security is personal responsibility, followed by the support of immediate family. If these layers fail, promptly contact the police or other security services for assistance,” he advised.

DSP Sabi reiterated the police’s commitment to upholding peace before, during, and after the elections, stating, “We are fully prepared to ensure peace and order throughout the 2024 elections.”
The peace walk underscored the commitment of JGC, ZGL, and their partners to fostering unity, gratitude, and spiritual upliftment in Ghana.
