The Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), in collaboration with the International Tennis Federation (ITF), will organise a National Wheelchair Tennis Juniors Training Camp at the Accra Sports Stadium on December 3, 2024.
The event, which coincides with International Day for Persons with Disabilities, will bring together over 30 young athletes aged 10 to 18 from across Ghana.
It aims to introduce children with physical disabilities to wheelchair tennis and develop their skills to potentially pursue professional careers.
This initiative aligns with the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Player Pathway Strategy and GTF’s commitment to combining education with athlete development. Coaches Yahya Macaulay, Philip Plange, and Emmanuel Yaw Boateng will lead the camp.

Under the theme “Amplifying the Leadership of People with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,” the event celebrates the achievements of people with disabilities worldwide.
It will also serve to create a database of junior players to guide future training and development programs in 2025.
The camp represents a significant step towards fostering inclusion and empowering young athletes through sport.
