The Atwima Mponua Rural Bank in the Ashanti Region is adopting a set of practices to promote environmentally friendly banking in all of its branches.
The aim is to reduce the carbon footprints of banking activities with the adoption of energy-efficient technologies being the main driver.
Board Chairperson, Constance Phyllis Puttick has announced a modern operations will include the limitation of the use of paper in the bank.

“In line with our corporate responsibility goals, we will prioritize sustainability by promoting Green Banking Practices. This includes reducing paper usage and adopting energy-efficient technologies”, she emphasised.
The impact of shifts in weather patterns on livelihoods continues to negatively affect the sustainability of the environment.
In mitigating the impact of climate change, industries are implementing actions aimed at reducing greenhouse emissions from human activities.

Madam Puttick added, “We will raise awareness of environmental stewardship within our banks and communities we serve”.
At the 40th Annual General Meeting of the Atwima Mponua Rural Bank, the Board Chairman presented an improved financial report.
For the 2023 financial year, the Bank grew its deposit by over 152 million cedis, representing 22 percent.
Short-term investments went up by 36 percent, and loans and total assets grew by 23 and 20 percent respectively.
Even before the end of 2024, a positive increase in figures is being realized.
“In 2025, we will continue to prioritize financial soundness and resilience. Our performance metrics from 2023 to 2024, including substantial growth in deposits and assets, reflect a positive trajectory that we intend to sustain”, Madam Puttick emphasized.
She further emphasized, “Our balance sheet remains a key focus, and to further reinforce our financial base, we will encourage shareholders to increase equity investments, aligning our growth ambitions with a robust capital foundation”.
As part of strategic plans for 2025, the Bank will increase investments in micro, small and medium enterprises in its catchment.
