The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande has entreated electorates along the Ghana-Togo border not to be intimated by men in uniforms and guns.

He urged them to cooperate with them and ensure there is peace and tranquillity in Saturday’s polls.

Mr Gbande said this when he briefly joined Eden’s Agbana, NDC PC in Ketu North at a rally in Dzodze during his operational border review tour on the Ghana-Togo border in the Volta Region.

"They will bus criminals to come and threaten our people. The route on which they will come, that should not be a route for them to exit. Because this is our home. This is our stronghold and the NPP will not intimidate us in our stronghold."

“Eye Zu, Eye Za! If you see an immigration officer, don’t be afraid. If you see a military office, don’t be afraid. If you see a police officer, don’t be afraid. But when they bring people to come and intimidate you, mobilise yourselves and intimidate them in return."

“In our villages, weapons were there but juju was also there. Before weapons, there were men. Mobilise yourself and protect the election Ghanaians are going to do", he said.

He further indicated that the NDC is peace-loving and gives priority to the development of the country when in charge of the realm of affairs.

He stressed that the 2024 general elections “is for us [NDC] to win and preserve our country” and entreated the party’s supporters to embark on campaigns to secure the party’s victory.

Mr. Gbande called on the electorates in the Ketu North Constituency to vote for Edem Agbagba to make him the youngest MP in the Fourth Republic.
