The overlord of the Ga State in the Greater Accra region, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has cast his ballot at the Odododiodio constituency.
After voting, he called for peace during and after today’s exercise.
“To Ghanaians, we ask for peace, we ask for patience, and that we restrain ourselves from any kind of violence. Ghana, at the end of this national exercise, must be united, and Ghana must win,” he said.
The traditional leader has been vocal in emphasising the importance of peaceful elections in the country.
In Walewale, the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawunia, who is contesting for the presidency, has cast his vote. Former President John Dramani Mahama is also expected to cast his vote at around 11:30 am in his hometown, Bole.
Voting across the country is reported to be proceeding smoothly.
