The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has clarified that it is not conducting any vehicle auction.
In a statement, the GRA explained that there were standard procedures for the auctioning of vehicles and goods by its Customs Division.
The Authority condemned a circulating notice about a vehicle auction, calling it fake.
The notice, dated December 3, 2024, falsely claimed to be from Commissioner-General Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, but carried the name of the current Commissioner-General, Madam Julie Essiam.
“It is important to note that the process of auction of vehicles does not involve payment of a registration fee.
“The public is therefore cautioned not to make payment to any person or group of persons via any means provided in the fake media release.”
The Authority urged the public to remain vigilant and verify any information before participating in any GRA auction.
