Life coach and motivational speaker, Uncle Ebo Whyte, has commended the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana and its Chairperson, Mrs Jean Mensa, for their remarkable organisation of the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on his popular Food for Thought programme on Joy FM, Uncle Ebo highlighted the Commission’s efforts in ensuring a smooth, transparent, and credible election process, which concluded with the election of former President John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s next leader.
Uncle Ebo applauded the EC for its quick response to public concerns, particularly its decision to rescind earlier restrictions on journalists' access to collation centres. “By stepping back on this decision, the commission ensured that the election was seen as transparent, which made it easier for people to accept the results,” he noted.
He also lauded the EC for its logistical improvements, including increasing the number of polling stations nationwide. According to Uncle Ebo, this move significantly reduced long queues and ensured a seamless voting experience for many Ghanaians.
"Mrs Jean Mensa and her entire team deserve a big ‘ayekoo!’ for their excellent work," he said.
The motivational speaker also praised President-elect John Mahama and outgoing Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for their roles in maintaining the democratic integrity of the election.

He pointed out President Mahama’s perseverance through previous electoral defeats and Dr Bawumia’s timely concession speech, which he described as a "masterstroke of patriotism."
“Dr Bawumia’s concession speech within 24 hours of the elections, even ahead of the official results, spared the nation tension and uncertainty, proving his commitment to the national interest above personal ambition,” Uncle Ebo stated.
In his reflective commentary, Uncle Ebo framed the success of the 2024 elections as a testament to Ghana’s deepening democracy. He emphasised that the peaceful transition of power, the integrity of the EC, and the willingness of leaders to accept the will of the people all contributed to enhancing Ghana’s global reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.
Uncle Ebo declared “This election was a win for Ghana as a whole. Ayekoo to everyone involved!”
