The Gonjaland overlord, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I, has urged President-elect John Mahama to focus on implementing policies that align with the aspirations of Ghanaians.
He emphasised that Mahama’s leadership is bound by a social contract with the people, compelling him to deliver on his mandate.
During a courtesy visit by the President-elect, Yagbonwura expressed optimism about Mahama’s upcoming tenure.
“It is our fervent hope that as you prepare for your inauguration on January 7, 2025, you will continue to implement policies and programmes that resonate with the aspirations of our people,” he remarked.
The overlord further reminded Mahama of the responsibility that comes with the presidency, highlighting the trust placed in him by the electorate.
“Mr President-elect, as you embark on this new chapter, I must remind you that you have entered a social contract with the people of Ghana,” he stated, urging him to remain steadfast in fulfilling his duties.
Yagbonwura commended Mahama for his previous achievements, noting that his renewed mandate reflects Ghanaians’ recognition of his exemplary leadership.
He described the election outcome as a vindication of Mahama’s efforts, which have left a positive imprint on the nation.
He concluded by expressing confidence in Mahama’s ability to lead Ghana to greater heights.
“The people of Ghana have demonstrated their belief in your capacity to advance the country’s development,” Yagbonwura noted, calling on the President-elect to seize this opportunity to uphold the trust bestowed upon him.
