President John Mahama has assured that his government will ensure the nation’s resources are shared equitably, without discrimination.
He stated, “We will ensure an equitable distribution of resources so that all Ghanaians can benefit from the bountiful blessings that God has given us.”
The President made these remarks during his first National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service held in Accra on Sunday, January 12, following a similar event with the Muslim community on Friday.
Mr Mahama, who made a historic return to the presidency following the December 7, 2024, general elections, acknowledged the nation's challenges and emphasised that he is committed to working with his government to redeem the country.
He also expressed confidence that, with determination, the nation can overcome its challenges. "The challenges we face are great, but with determination, innovation, and collective effort, we can overcome them and build a Ghana that future generations will be proud of," he said.
To ensure his government delivers effectively, the President appealed to the Christian community for continued support through prayer. “I humbly ask for your continuous prayers and partnership,” he said.
During the service, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Church, Ghana, delivered an inspiring sermon, expressing his belief that divine guidance would lead Ghana through its current difficulties.
