The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Edudzi Tameklo, has pledged to initiate transformative reforms aimed at revitalising Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.
Speaking to the press on his first day in office, Mr Tameklo outlined his leadership priorities, which he said would align with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of fostering fairness, transparency, and efficiency within the sector.
“It will no longer be business as usual,” he declared, promising to introduce bold strategies to elevate the Authority’s regulatory role and operational standards.
Mr Tameklo reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling the NPA’s parliamentary mandate, stressing the importance of maintaining compliance and accountability across the industry.
“Our primary role as a regulator is to ensure that the industry operates within the framework set by Parliament. The NPA’s core mandate must be achieved,” he stated on 27 January.
He assured Ghanaians that the planned reforms would lead to the provision of affordable, reliable, and high-quality fuel, realising the long-term benefits envisioned by President Mahama for the everyday citizen.
