Asante Kotoko's Interim Management Committee Chairman, Nana Apinkra Awuah, has expressed his disappointment with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) regarding the welfare of his club and Accra Hearts of Oak.
Following the tragic death of a Kotoko fan after a Ghana Premier League match, Kotoko and Hearts have called for a major overhaul of the GFA's regulations to prioritize safety at match venues and protect their interests.
In a meeting with officials of the country's, Apinkra called for better measures at match venues before the resumption of his outfit in the Premier League.
"For the GFA, we know they don't value us but we will force you to respect us whether you like it or not. We will show you we are Kotoko and Hearts," he said.
"What we seek is for the security measures and our requests to be addressed before we can resume the league.
"We can't say we won't play the league again. We will play, but only if the security measures are put in place. We will make sure we go all lengths to ensure this."
Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong Pooley" was stabbed to death during the Porcupines' clash with Nsoatreman in Nsoatre in Week 19 of Ghana’s top-flight league.
