Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC have been eliminated from the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup after losing to Division One League side PAC Academy in the round of 16.
The Tarkwa-based side suffered a penalty shootout defeat which ended their hopes of advancing in the cup competition.
The two teams played out a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes of action at the TNA Stadium, leading to penalties which the lower tier side won 4-2.
Medeama opened the scoring four minutes into the game when Mubarik Yussif stepped up to convert from the penalty spot.
However, their joy was short-lived as PAC drew level three minutes later.
Both teams went into the break with a goal apiece and were unable to add to that after the return from recess as the game ended 1-1.
While PAC Academy scored all of their first four penalties, Medeama missed their second and fourth attempts resulting in their elimination.
