Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening security frameworks in response to pressing global challenges.
Speaking at a diplomatic gathering hosted by President John Mahama at Jubilee House for the annual exchange of New Year greetings, Mr Ablakwa highlighted the need for comprehensive cooperation to address emerging threats to global stability.
“Moreover, global economic uncertainties, cybercrime, terrorism, food insecurity and pandemics are pressing challenges that need a unified response,” he stated.
“These threats to global stability and security make it clear that comprehensive cooperation and stronger security frameworks are necessary.” He emphasised the importance of collaboration between nations in tackling these crises effectively.
To enhance Ghana’s foreign policy strategy, Mr Ablakwa announced the development of a Comprehensive Foreign Policy, aimed at ensuring a proactive and strategic approach to international relations.
He further revealed that the Ministry had established a Delivery Unit to enhance efficiency and responsiveness in diplomatic engagements, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to adaptability in a rapidly changing global landscape.
The Foreign Affairs Minister reassured the diplomatic corps of Ghana’s dedication to multilateralism and international cooperation.
He encouraged continued collaboration with global partners in promoting peace, economic stability, and security, underscoring Ghana’s role as an active participant in addressing global challenges.
