The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection has terminated the contracts of all Regional and Zonal Coordinators under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) with immediate effect.
In an official statement dated March 4, 2025, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey announced the mass termination, thanking the affected coordinators for their service to the nation.
"Please be informed that the contracts of all Regional and Zonal Coordinators of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) are hereby terminated with immediate effect," the statement read.
The terminated staff have been directed to visit the GSFP Secretariat to receive their termination letters and to complete their handover processes.
The statement, which was copied to the Chief Director, the National Coordinator of GSFP, and the Controller and Accountant General, did not specify the reasons for the abrupt termination.
The GSFP, a government initiative aimed at providing free meals to schoolchildren to enhance enrollment, attendance, and nutrition, has been a key social intervention programme in Ghana.
However, issues such as funding delays, alleged corruption, and unpaid arrears to caterers have frequently plagued its operations.
