The Public Services Commission (PSC) has clarified that it has not directed the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission (FC) to revoke the promotions of four officers of the Commission promoted as directors under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
A report by Myjoyonline.com stated that the Public Services Commission through the CEO of the Forestry Commission (FC), Dr Hugh Brown, revoked the appointments of the four officers.
Upon further verification, we acknowledge that this information was incorrect and regret the error.
We, therefore, wish to retract the claim that PSC directed the FC to reverse the promotions.
The PSC acknowledges that the continuous tenure of the four FC directors remains lawful.
As a media organisation committed to accuracy and fairness, we sincerely apologise to the Public Services Commission (PSC) for the distress and inconvenience this publication may have caused.
JoyNews remains dedicated to upholding the highest journalistic standards and will continue to take all necessary steps to prevent such errors in the future.
