Heart of Lions were held to a 1-1 draw by Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II sports complex on Sunday.
Lions took the lead in the 15th minute of the match thanks to defender Kwesi Pong, but Vision FC midfielder George Tei equalized before halftime, ensuring the hosts earned a vital point.
The draw denied the visitors the opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars, who both have 37 points after their respective victories.
Bashir Hayford's side slipped to fourth place, while Vision FC dropped to 12th place but remain five points above the relegation zone.
The newly promoted side will aim to accumulate more points to avoid relegation as they face Bechem United next.
Meanwhile, Lions will seek to bounce back with a win against struggling Karela United on matchday 24.
