Berekum Chelsea will play in the semifinal of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup following their win over Bechem United on Saturday, March 29.
Stephen Amankona scored the only goal of the game to give Chelsea a narrow win as they advanced into the last four.
The two teams came into the fixture with high confidence after sailing through the Round of 16 stage. Chelsea claimed a 4-1 win over Northern City while Bechem United needed penalties to go past Techiman Liberty Youth.
In a keenly contested game at the Baba Yara Stadium, it was Chelsea who found the breakthrough, coming in the 30th minute through their top scorer, Amankona.
Despite efforts to level the score before the break, the Hunters were unsuccessful in their attempts as they went into halftime trailing.
The second half was no different from the opening half as both teams continued to look for goals. Bechem came close on few occasions but they couldn't trouble Chelsea's goalkeeper.
Chelsea held onto their to clinch the win securing them a place in the last four of the competition where they will play the winner of the game between Asante Kotoko and True Demorcacy.
