President John Mahama has urged Ghanaian youth to embrace digital innovation, education, and discipline as essential pillars for success in today’s rapidly changing global economy.
He emphasised that in an era of digital transformation, young people must equip themselves with relevant skills to remain competitive both locally and internationally.
Speaking at the 2025 National Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at Black Star Square on 31st March, President Mahama underscored the vital role the youth play in shaping Ghana’s future.
He encouraged them to take deliberate steps to acquire expertise in areas such as coding, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and entrepreneurship.
According to him, these skills will be crucial in navigating economic challenges and seizing emerging opportunities.
The Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan, is a significant event on the Islamic calendar, bringing together Muslims from across the country for prayer, thanksgiving, and reflection.
President Mahama used the occasion to stress the importance of balancing faith with education and hard work in building a brighter future.
“To our young people, I say Ghana’s future is in your hands. In this era of digital transformation, economic challenges, and global competition, our youth must equip themselves with the necessary skills, knowledge, and discipline to thrive,” he stated.
“It is important to be a faithful Muslim, but it is equally important to be an educated Muslim.”
He further assured that his leadership would prioritise creating an enabling environment that fosters opportunities for young people.
He encouraged Muslim youth, in particular, to take full advantage of these prospects, adding that with dedication and the right skills, they can significantly contribute to the nation’s development.
