The Member of Parliament for Assin South and Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has debunked claims that he walked out of JoyNews’ flagship programme, *Newsfile*, during the Saturday, April 5 edition.
According to him, his appearance was strictly for a single segment, after which he duly exited the studio.
In a statement posted on X on Sunday, April 6, Rev. Fordjour addressed assertions made by Sammy Gyamfi, the Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress and Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), who also appeared on the programme.

Sammy Gyamfi had circulated a video suggesting that the MP stormed out of the studio mid-programme.
“I never walked out of *Newsfile* contrary to what Samson Ayenini and Sammy Gyamfi put out,” Ntim Fordjour stated.
“I was billed for only a particular segment and was told another panellist was billed to take over after my segment. I left after my segment fully concluded and break was taken for me to exit while my replacement walked in to take her seat.”
He urged the public to disregard what he called a “mischievous narrative” aimed at smearing his image.
“So please disregard his claim and the false video of Sammy Gyamfi – it was staged, not coincidence,” he concluded.
