As part of her commitment to inclusive climate action and community empowerment, Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, Winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024 and Founder of EcoGreen Oases Legacy, led a compassionate outreach dubbed “Eid of Hope & Unity” at the Nsawam Female Prisons, with the strong backing of the Forestry Commission and other key partners.
The initiative, which was both a celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr and a bold statement of social justice within the climate movement, brought warmth, food, and hope to female inmates and prison officers. Beyond the festive spirit, the event aligned closely with the EcoGreen Oases Legacy’s mission to ensure that climate justice also translates into human dignity and inclusivity for vulnerable communities.

“Climate action must be intersectional,” Queen Titiaka stated. “It must address not only environmental degradation but also the socio-economic conditions that keep people marginalized. Through this project and our partnerships, we are showing that sustainability must go hand in hand with compassion and community.”

The Forestry Commission, a lead partner of the initiative, underscored its continued dedication to combining environmental sustainability with tangible social impact. The Commission’s involvement is part of a broader strategy to support youth-led climate innovations and community-centered resilience programmes.

The outreach included a culturally diverse buffet of local dishes and the donation of a wide range of essential items, including: 6 bags of uncooked rice; 2 boxes of tin tomatoes; 3 boxes of mackerel; 2 gallons of cooking oil; 2 boxes of biscuits; 2 boxes of bathing soap; 1 box of washing soap; 2 packs of washing powder; 3 packs of sanitary tissue; 10 boxes of sanitary pads, 20 boxes of Vitamilk drinks; 60 packs of Special Ice drinks and bottled water; 1 box of A4 paper; 1 box of pens; 1 box of pencils and Attendance occurrence books.

The Queen was supported by generous contributions from corporate and individual sponsors, including Forestry Commission, HalferPay, Vitamilk Ghana, Special Ice Company Ltd., and Chef With Purpose—organizations that share a commitment to sustainable development, youth empowerment, and social welfare.
In her words shared via Instagram, Queen Titiaka reflected: “More than a festive occasion, it was a moment to restore dignity, spread love, and share hope with our sisters and mothers behind bars… Together, we’re planting seeds of transformation.”

The Ghana Prisons Service, which warmly hosted the event, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, recognizing it as not only an act of kindness but a vital step in reinforcing rehabilitation and human rights within correctional institutions.

With the “Eid of Hope & Unity” initiative, Queen Titiaka continues to bridge climate action with social inclusion, ensuring that sustainability is not just about trees and policies, but people, dignity, and impact where it is needed most.
