Estonia has reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s 2007 autonomy plan to resolve the Moroccan Sahara issue.
The plan was praised as a “good, serious and credible basis for an agreed solution between all parties.”
Estonia’s Foreign Minister, Margus Tsahkna, made the remarks during a joint press conference with Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, who is on an official visit to Tallinn—the first ever by a Moroccan foreign minister.
Tsahkna urged other governments to adopt a similar stance. “We encourage others to join this position,” he said.
The endorsement adds to growing international support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, bolstered by efforts led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Estonia’s position also aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2756, which highlights the positive momentum behind the autonomy plan and calls for continued diplomatic efforts.
