The Tema Traditional Council has voiced dissatisfaction with the government's handling of the nominations for the Chief Executives of Tema, Ashaiman, and Tema West.
The Council has pointed out that none of the three nominated candidates are indigenes, a move they believe reflects poorly on President John Dramani Mahama's regard for the community.
Members of the Council have expressed their discontent, describing the nominations as a "slap in the face."
They have warned that they will take matters into their own hands if the situation is not addressed.
Speaking at a press briefing, Tema Shippi, Nii Amarh Somponu, stated that they cannot accept how the three areas have been excluded from having local indigenes as their leaders.
When asked whether the Council plans to take any action to halt the government's decisions, Nii Amarh Somponu stated that they cannot overly intervene in political matters.
