President John Mahama has stated that the Adwumawura programme is unlike previous policies in the country that were initiated but ultimately failed due to a lack of funding.
Speaking at the official launch of the Adwumawura programme in Kumasi on Monday, 28th April, Mr Mahama assured that the programme is fully funded to ensure its long-term sustainability.
“This programme is not like others that were announced with much fanfare in the recent past, only to fade away due to insufficient funding. Adwumawura is fully funded, with adequate allocation secured through the Ministry of Finance in the 2025 budget,” he said.
According to the President, the initiative aims to create 40,000 jobs over a four-year period, with the goal of generating 10,000 jobs annually.
The programme is designed to provide financial support to both new and existing Ghanaian businesses, as well as offer coaching to young entrepreneurs.
