The Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has commended the newly inducted leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces, describing their appointment as a significant step towards strengthening national security and readiness in a rapidly changing global landscape.
He made the remarks on Sunday, May 11, when he served as Special Guest of Honour at the induction service held at the Church of Pentecost, Burma Camp Worship Centre.
The ceremony formally inducted the Chief of the Defence Staff, the three Service Commanders, and the Chief of Staff into office.

Dr Boamah praised the competence, integrity, and patriotism of the new high command, expressing confidence in their ability to build on the military’s successes and lead effectively in what he described as “an intensely volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world.”
“Your appointments and promotions are well-deserved. Your elevation is not only a personal milestone but also a call to greater national duty,” the Minister stated.

He extended his congratulations to the new Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frimpong, and Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai.

The Defence Minister also acknowledged the presence of key officials at the event, including Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Head of the Church of Pentecost, who delivered an “apt and inspiring sermon.”
He further appreciated the attendance of the Interior and National Security Minister, Muntaka Mubarak, Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Gyamfi, James Agalga, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and other dignitaries.
The event was described as prayerful, solemn, and unifying.
