The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), under the coordination of the International Affairs Secretariat, has called for event proposals for the 2025 edition of December in GH.
Aligned with the spirit of the Black Star Experience, Ghana's premier tourism initiative, December in GH continues to position Ghana as the ultimate destination for culture, heritage, entertainment and reconnection.
Taking place during the festive holiday season, December in GH spans a full month of curated events across music, fashion, art, culture and nightlife, drawing thousands of visitors from around the world. Each year, the season welcomes a vibrant mix of the Ghanaian diaspora returning home, as well as the historical diaspora reconnecting with their African roots.
Speaking on the announcement, Maame Efua Houadjeto (Mrs.), CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, said, "December in GH is more than a festive celebration, it is a movement that showcases Ghana's vibrant spirit to the world. As we embrace the Black Star Experience, we are setting the stage for our biggest December season yet, and we look forward to innovative events that will elevate Ghana's place as a leading destination for culture, entertainment, and heritage tourism."
GTA invites event organisers, promoters and cultural curators to submit proposals for events scheduled between 1st December, 2025 to 3rd January, 2026 that will contribute to a vibrant and diverse calendar of activities across the country.
Interested parties must submit their detailed event proposals not later than Monday 16th June, 2025. All submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee to ensure the highest quality of events that reflect Ghana's creativity, hospitality and global appeal. Selected events will be featured on the official December in GH 2025 calendar which will be formally launched later this year.
Annabelle McKenzie, Director of the International Affairs Secretariat, added that the call for proposals marks a pivotal moment in the planning process. "Were excited to work with event organisers who bring fresh ideas and energy to December in GH.
It's a time when the global diaspora comes home to experience Ghana, its culture, warmth, entertainment, food and welcoming spirit. This year will have an even greater impact as we invite the world to be part of the Black Star Experience during one of the most vibrant times of the year."
The December in GH campaign continues to play a major role in boosting tourism, strengthening cultural industries and reinforcing Ghana's reputation as the gateway to Africa. This year's edition promises to be historic, and all stakeholders are encouraged to be part of this transformative journey.
All proposals must be submitted by Monday 16th June, 2025, through the official submission form: https://forms.office.com/r/xMVFeS20Fd.
