The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has confirmed that a new television partner for the Ghana Premier League will be announced soon.
This follows the GFA’s decision to end its deal with Chinese broadcaster StarTimes, who reportedly owe the association $950,000.
The contract officially expired at the end of the 2023/24 football season, leaving both the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup without an official broadcaster.
“We have ended our partnership with StarTimes. They owe GFA $950,000,” Kurt said in an interview with GhOne TV.
“Our Premier League is interesting enough to attract TV partners, and we will announce a new partner soon."
It is understood that South African broadcasting giants SuperSport are in line to become the new official rights holders for Ghana’s top-flight competition.
