Rising Black Stars forward Jerry Afriyie has been named the Odartey Lamptey Future Star Award winner at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Afriyie, currently on loan from Al-Qadsiah, impressed with 2 goals in 7 league appearances for Spanish side CD Lugo in the third tier.
His rise began with Thoughts FC in Ghana, before playing a key role in Ghana’s U20 team that won gold at the 2023 African Games.
He has since made his senior national team debut and has quickly become a regular for the Black Stars, known for his pace, composure, and eye for goal.
Afriyie edged out strong competition from Christiana Ashiaku of the Black Maidens and Edmund Baidoo of Red Bull Salzburg to claim the award.
