Youngster, Kingsley Gyamfi, has signed a permanent multi-year deal with Swedish top-flight club Östers IF, following a standout loan spell from Hammarby IF during the first half of the Allsvenskan season.
The 21-year-old defender, who joined Öster ahead of the 2025 campaign, made eight appearances in the spring and quickly became a key figure in the club’s backline.
“We are very happy to have agreed with Kingsley on a long-term contract. He is a very exciting player with great potential,” said Öster’s acting sporting director Christian Järdler.
“He’s flexible in defence, strong in duels and calm on the ball.”
Gyamfi, a product of Ghana’s division two outfit, MSK Zilina Africa, expressed his excitement about the permanent move and the warm reception he has received in Sweden.
“It feels good to be here permanently now. The supporters, coaches and staff really appreciate me, and I’m ready to continue helping the team,” he told the club’s media.

The defender, who continues the tradition of Ghanaian talent making waves in European football, believes his time in Sweden has been transformative.
“Coach has given me the platform to show what I can do, and I’m determined to keep proving myself,” he said.
“It’s not just on the pitch – even outside football, the people here have been amazing. It’s rare to feel this much love and support in a new environment.”
Looking ahead, Gyamfi is aiming high as Öster prepares for the second half of the season.
“We have to continue working hard and reach our highest level. Who knows, maybe we can even win the Allsvenskan,” he said with a smile.
