President John Dramani Mahama has officially launched the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme, describing it as not a mere policy initiative but as a “national reset” aimed at fundamentally transforming Ghana’s economic landscape.
Speaking at the launch event in Accra on Wednesday, July 2, President Mahama unveiled what he termed the “24-H Plus Agenda”, a strategic initiative designed to maximise productivity, drive export growth, and create inclusive economic opportunities across all sectors of society.
“Today marks the formal launch of the 24-hour economy and accelerated export development programme, what we now proudly call the 24-H Plus Agenda,” he announced.
“This is more than a policy initiative, it is a national reset a bold strategic shift to unlock our country’s full productive potential,” he continued.
Framing the policy in historical and ideological terms, Mahama declared the agenda a return to Ghana’s founding ideals.
“Today we reclaim our founders’ vision of a self-reliant, industrious and inclusive African nation that works with organised creativity and ensures prosperity for all,” he said.
He stressed that the programme would be driven primarily by the private sector, with government playing an enabling and catalytic role.
