The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise set to take place on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in parts of the Volta and Greater Accra regions.
The exercise, according to the ECG, is aimed at improving power supply reliability and service delivery.
In a notice issued on Saturday, July 5, 2025, the power distributor stated that the planned maintenance will commence at 9am and is expected to end at 5pm on the said date.
In the Volta Region, the maintenance work will affect Hodzo and its surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, in the Greater Accra Region, a wider range of communities will experience a temporary interruption in power supply.
The affected areas include Palace Mall, Airport Hills Estate, Mayfair Estate, Sowutuom, Israel, Race Course, Glefe, Wiaboman, Achimota Market, Achimota Old Station and surrounding communities.
The ECG, in its public statement, expressed regret over the inconvenience the scheduled activity may cause to residents and businesses within the affected zones.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform its cherished customers that the interruption in power supply is necessary to allow our engineers to carry out maintenance works on our transmission infrastructure. We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the statement said.
Customers have been advised to take the necessary precautions and to treat all electrical connections as live during the maintenance period.
The ECG has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring improved and stable power delivery as part of its ongoing infrastructure enhancement and modernisation efforts. Updates regarding any changes in the maintenance schedule can be accessed on the company’s official website: www.ecg.com.gh or via its verified social media platforms.
