Ghanaian and Togolese security forces conducted a joint operation that led to the arrest of eight suspects after armed Bimoaba youth attacked a Fulbe settlement in Kongo, near the Togo border in the Tempane District, on Saturday afternoon.
The assault, reportedly sparked by a land dispute, left five Fulbe individuals injured; two of them critically.
It also resulted in the destruction of homes and stored food.

Following the attack, some victims and suspects fled into Togo, prompting Togolese security forces to intervene. They rescued several victims and arrested three suspects.
Ghanaian forces later apprehended five additional suspects.

One of the victims, Yakubu Barry, praised the swift intervention of the Togolese security forces, noting that their action prevented a potential cross-border clash as Fulbe families began to mobilise in response.

He called on authorities to ensure that justice is served.
