The Kwesimintsim District Police Command in the Western Region has arrested Anthony Acquah as a suspect in connection with the murder of his brother, Francis Mensah, 17, at Manpong-Pepease, a suburb of Sekondi.
The incident happened on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
A statement signed by Police Superintendent Olivia Adiku, the Head of Public Affairs for the Western Regional Police Command, said the suspect was arrested at his hideout at Kojokrom on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, based on tangible intelligence.
The statement said preliminary investigations disclosed that on Saturday, August 16, 2025, around 1800 hours, Acquah had a misunderstanding with his younger brother and in the process stabbed him to death.
It said the suspect then went into hiding immediately after committing the crime, until he was arrested at his hideout.
The suspect was currently in Police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations, the statement said.
