Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams says per diems of the Black Stars will be paid in dollars only during away fixtures.
The revelation is on the back of the press briefing held on Tuesday at the Ministry’s office, detailing the budget for Ghana’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Otto Addo’s men have left for N’Djamena to face Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on September 4, before returning home to host Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.
Adams, who is a Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, announced $150 per diem for players and $200 for technical team members.
"Even though it's quoted in dollars, the Ministry will pay the cedi equivalent for bonuses,” he told Sporty FM.
"For per diems, if it is home game, they [Players and Technical team] will be paid in cedis.
"[Chad game], they will be paid in dollars because that is outside of Ghana's jurisdiction. The only time payment is done in dollars is when you are paying per diem for away games.
The approved package covers the team’s stay in Chad and their preparations for the home tie against Mali.
Otto Addo and his boys are expected to hold a final training on Wednesday.
The Black Stars, four-time World Cup participants lead Group I with 15 points, three points more than Comoros who will play Mali on Match day 7.
