The Made in Africa Expo Canada has announced it will host the inaugural AfriCanada Expo 2025 in Edmonton, a landmark event designed to serve as a premier platform for fostering cross-continental trade, innovation, and investment.
Scheduled to take place from October 17–19, 2025, the expo is expected to draw a diverse range of participants, from government delegations and investors to diaspora innovators and entrepreneurs.
The AfriCanada Expo 2025 is poised to be a transformational event, strategically designed with several key features to facilitate high-level collaboration.
The Made in Africa Pavilion will serve as a vibrant showcase of African innovation and craftsmanship, highlighting products and services from a range of sectors, including technology, textiles, and agro-processing.
This will be complemented by the Made in Canada Showcase, where Canadian companies will present solutions and technologies tailored for the African market.
A central component of the event is the B2B Matchmaking Lounge, a facilitated platform to spark direct business alliances between African and Canadian enterprises.
The expo will also feature Trade Dialogues, where key policymakers and industry leaders will engage on critical topics.
The presence of representatives from the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) underscores the event’s significance, as it provides a direct channel to explore opportunities within Africa’s massive single market of 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of $3.4 trillion.
According to recent data from Global Affairs Canada, bilateral trade in goods between Canada and Africa exceeded $13 billion in 2023, with a significant portion driven by key sectors like mining, agriculture, and energy.
The AfriCanada Expo aims to not only grow these traditional trade relationships but also to tap into the burgeoning technology and creative industries that are driving Africa’s economic growth.
The Startup Spotlight is another key highlight, offering African tech companies and innovators a unique opportunity to pitch to global investors, tapping into the growing interest in Africa's vibrant startup ecosystem.
Beyond business, the event will feature Cultural Experience Zones, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the rich and diverse cultures of both continents.
The expo’s organisers are extending a warm invitation to businesses, investors, government delegations, and the African diaspora community, which is a powerful economic force in Canada.
"We extend our deepest appreciation to our exhibitors, partners, sponsors, and supporters whose continued dedication has made this Expo an impactful cornerstone for Africa–Canada trade and partnership," the press release stated.
With this flagship event, the Made in Africa Expo Canada and its partners are committed to building a future where Africa and Canada prosper together.
