American actress, writer and director Schelle Purcell, known for her role as landlady “Gloria” in Tyler Perry’s Netflix hit Straw, will visit Ghana this week.
She is scheduled to join women Changemakers for the International Ladies High Tea & Awards on Sunday, 21st September, at the Estees Bee Event Centre, East Legon.
The International Ladies High Tea & Awards is a global initiative designed to celebrate, inspire, empower and connect women to maximise their uniqueness and fulfil their purpose.
“This is our maiden edition of the International Ladies High Tea & Awards in Ghana, and it promises to be an unforgettably exciting experience,” said Author Ralph Antwi, Founding President of RAIN Foundations.

The event will feature a moderated panel discussion, including a Q&A session with attendees, under the theme of celebrating, manifesting and maximising womanhood.
Over forty women Changemakers from across Ghana will be honoured with medals and certificates of achievement. Awardees will also qualify to participate in the 2026 international editions in Europe and America.
The European edition is scheduled for Paris on 14 February 2026, offering honourees from Ghana the chance to network with fellow Changemakers.
Schelle Purcell is expected to arrive in Ghana with Dr Muriam Cinevert and Dr Shaneque Metellus, two women recognised for their leadership and impact in America.
