Ghana and Kenya travel have partnered to strengthen tourism in their respective countries.
This follows a meeting between Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare and her team from Ghana and Kenya’s Minister of East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism Mrs. Phyllis Kandie, at the just-ended International Tourism Exchange (ITB, Berlin) Tourism Fair.
"It's a great honour to work with Kenyan tourism stakeholders…We are ready to share our experience and we hope we'll learn a lot from you as we try to find ways to develop our hotel and Catering school (HOTTCATT) in Ghana," noted Mrs Ofosu-Adjare.
She stated that, Kenya has a rich tapestry of experience in the field of tourism, hospitality and human capacity development, adding that collaborating with them will only help strengthen and shape Ghana’s hospitality industry.
On her part, Phyllis Kandie was happy about the agreement for the two countries to share knowledge on their strengths in order to develop the tourism industry between them both.
She added that, one area Kenya is looking to enhance is its cultural tourism. She believed Ghana was very strong in that field of tourism and was leading a team from her Ministry to Ghana to understudy Ghana’s model.
