The Deputy Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, has urged religious organisations to support the government's resetting agenda to enable it to deliver development for Ghanaians.

She said religious bodies were crucial in driving Ghana's development, stressing that their support for the government's initiatives, such as the Clean Ghana campaign, would ensure that the purpose of such initiatives was achieved.

The Minister made the call at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Ghana, prayer conference in Accra, which took place between September 23 and 28.

The conference brought together more than 7,000 women from the North-Central Ghana Union Mission, Mid-Ghana Union Conference, Southern Ghana Union Conference, and some women from Nigeria and Togo.

It also marked a significant moment for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana, with the last such gathering held about 15 years ago.

The conference was held on the theme "Fill My Cup, Lord: Set Free and Send."

Madam Odoley Sowah praised the Seventh-day Adventist Church for its social services, including providing schools and medical facilities for some communities across the country, which she said had helped improve education and health of Ghanaians.

She donated GH¢10,000 to support the conference.

The General Conference Women's Ministries Associate Director, Dr. Omobonike Adeola Sessou, emphasized the importance of togetherness and faith.

She stated that with faith, women could move mountains and encouraged them to continue having faith in the Lord.

She also encouraged women to be agents of change and support young women in the ministry to enable them to flourish.

The conference was also attended by Mr. Roey Gilad, Israeli Ambassador to Ghana.
