A Senegalese goalkeeper, Cheikh Touré, has reportedly been found dead in Ghana, according the country's Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Preliminary investigations by Senegal’s Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs revealed that the deceased was a "victim of network of scams and extortion of funds."
The specific details regarding his death, however, remain unclear.
Per a statement from the Ministry, the Senegalese Embassy in Accra has confirmed that the body has since been deposited at the Ebenezer morgue in Tafo, Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
The Embassy has since dispatched two agents to Kumasi to "assist local authorities in the administrative and judicial procedures in order to prepare, and link with the family" to repatriate the body as soon as the necessary authorisation has been obtained.
