Former Deputy Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Joseph Dindiok Kpemka, has cautioned the government against hastily handling corruption-related cases, warning that “justice rushed is justice crushed.”
Speaking on Newsfile on JoyNews on Saturday, Mr Kpemka advised that while it is important to ensure accountability, due process must not be compromised in the quest for swift justice.
He emphasised the need for a thorough and well-structured approach in dealing with ongoing corruption cases.
According to him, “I agreed with you that, justice delayed is justice denied but let us not also forget that, justice rushed is justice crushed. We must make sure that we balance that, in our haste to look for justice."
"We have to be very careful to ensure that the people who are guilty suffer for it," he added.
The discussion centred on major corruption scandals recently highlighted by the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine.
