The atmosphere inside the CNC Auditorium may not have been electric. The seats were less than half filled, but the few who showed up were on the edge of their seats, eager for what was to come.
Round one opened on a fierce note. Seeded school Koforidua Senior Technical School (KSTS) was given a real challenge by Ofori Panin SHS (Opass), as both schools matched each other point-for-point, ending the round tied at 15. Fafraha Community SHS trailed with 6 points.
The second round proved a tough one. While all schools made good attempts, KSTS began to edge ahead, scoring 21 points, with Opass managing 12 points, and Fafraha Community SHS falling to 5 points.
In round three — the Problem of the Day — none of the schools made significant headway. Fafraha Community SHS scored nothing, while both KSTS and Opass earned just 1 point each.

Round four, the True or False round, saw all three schools try to claw their way up the scoreboard. By the end of it, KSTS still held on to their lead with 34 points, Opass followed with 26, and Fafraha Community SHS improved to 16 points.

Then came the decisive final round — the riddles. Despite the twin power from Opass fighting with everything they had, only KSTS managed to crack one riddle, sealing their victory and maintaining their seeded status in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
