Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign for the upcoming NPP presidential primaries has received a major boost, following an emphatic declaration of support from the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency in the Western Region.
Out of the constituency’s 30 electoral area coordinators, 26 have officially declared their support for the former Vice President.
Electoral area coordinators play a vital role in mobilising and campaigning within the NPP’s delegate structure, and to have 26 out of 30 coordinators in a single constituency openly endorsing a candidate represents a significant boost for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign.
The former Vice President, who completed his tour of the Western Region last week, is currently campaigning in the Volta Region.
In the 2023 NPP presidential primaries, Dr. Bawumia won convincingly in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, securing 862 votes (72.87%), while Kennedy Agyapong placed second with 317 votes (26.7%).
