Southey Contracting Ltd, a fully indigenous Ghanaian company and a subsidiary of the Ensol Group, continues to demonstrate its commitment to community development and safety education through two impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Takoradi.
The company, which provides industrial engineering solutions to the Mining, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Industrial sectors, recently donated 120 fire-retardant coveralls and 120 safety glasses to the Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI) to support the training of technical students.
In an interview with Channel One TV during the donation, General Manager of Southey Contracting Ltd, Mr. Ishmael Amegah, explained that the gesture forms part of Southey’s broader vision to help develop the technical manpower needed in the industry.

Mr. Amegah stated, "This PPE donation is essential for properly equipping TTI students during their technical training. This marks the beginning of a long-term partnership, and we intend to provide further technical and infrastructure support to the institution as our budget permits."
The Principal of the Takoradi Technical Institute, Engineer Bernard Forson, expressed deep appreciation to Southey for the donation, describing it as timely and vital to their training efforts.

"Many of our students lack the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which is essential as we train them on machinery and instill vital safety protocols. This foundation is crucial for their future employability, particularly in safety-conscious sectors like petroleum and mining. We are certain this donation will significantly benefit our students and deeply appreciate Southey's commitment to our practical training needs," he emphasized.
In addition to the PPE donation, the Southey team conducted an educational seminar on corrosion, offering students valuable insights into the company's services and career opportunities in the oil and gas sector.

Extending its corporate social responsibility beyond the technical institute, Southey Contracting also undertook a road safety initiative at the Airforce Base Primary School in Takoradi. The project involved re-marking the zebra crossing, installing new road signs, and conducting an educational session on safe road use for pupils to promote safety consciousness among young learners.
These initiatives reflect Southey Contracting’s ongoing commitment to supporting education, promoting safety, and contributing to the growth of technical and social development within the local communities where it operates.
