The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has honoured athlete Zinabu Issah with the prestigious title of 2025 SWAG Best Para Athlete of the Year, recognizing her remarkable performances on the international stage in Shot Put and Discus (F57 category).
Zinabu, who proudly represented Ghana at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, continued her trajectory in 2025 by winning Gold and Silver medals at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Morocco.
Her medal-winning performances in both Shot Put and Discus have reinforced her position among the world’s elite para throwers.
“I am deeply honoured to receive the 2025 SWAG Best Para Athlete of the Year award,” Zinabu said.
“This recognition means so much to me, my family, and to everyone who has supported my journey.”

Zinabu extended heartfelt appreciation to the President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana, Mr. Samson Deen, the Executives, and the entire Technical Team of the Ghana Para Athletics Association for their unwavering support and guidance.
She also expressed special gratitude to Henry Larbi, acknowledging him warmly for “all the motivation and support” throughout her training and competitions.
Looking ahead, the celebrated athlete reaffirmed her determination to raising Ghana’s flag even higher on the global stage.
“I promise to work harder and win medals for Ghana at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and the LA 2028 Paralympic Games,” Zinabu declared.
The National Paralympic Committee, Ghana Para Athletics Association, and the wider sporting community congratulate Zinabu Issah on her outstanding achievements and wish her continued success as she prepares for upcoming global competitions.
