The Women's Executive Office of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-WEO) has called on the public to recognise and celebrate the impact men and boys have in their daily interactions with families, workplaces, and communities.
In a statement to mark this year's International Men's Day, UTAG-WEO encouraged Ghanaians to pause and appreciate the men and boys who inspire, protect, and nurture others, often without fanfare or expectation of recognition.

According to the association, these everyday acts of resilience and responsibility form an essential pillar of national cohesion and social stability.
"Let us all take a moment today to appreciate the men and boys who inspire, protect, and nurture others in their daily lives. Together, we can promote a culture that values both men and women equally, ensuring a better and more inclusive future for all," noted in the statement.
UTAG-WEO emphasised that genuine gender equality thrives on mutual respect and shared commitment, not competition. By acknowledging the positive roles men play, the country can foster stronger relationships, promote inclusive development, and strengthen the collective drive toward a more equitable future.

UTAG-WEO reiterated that International Men’s Day presents a crucial opportunity to reshape societal attitudes and foster a greater appreciation for the men and boys who continually uplift and support others.
This year's celebration is on the theme "Celebrating men and boys".
