Two people have been reportedly shot after gunmen opened fire on a bus travelling from Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region to Ashanti Region's capital, Kumasi.
The incident, according to available information, occurred near Walewale township on Tuesday, December 16. The injured persons are the driver and a passenger, who are currently receiving medical attention at the Walewale Hospital.
The bus, operated by Great Imperial Express and bearing registration number GY 3199-21, is believed to have been targeted in connection with tensions in the area.
The police have confirmed the attack and are investigating the motive while working to identify the perpetrators.
