A robbery attempt at Darkuman in Accra was foiled on Tuesday after a quick-thinking motorist rammed his vehicle into two suspected armed robbers who had attacked a mobile money (MoMo) vendor and were attempting to flee with cash.
Eyewitnesses said the suspects had just robbed the vendor of about GH¢7,700 when the driver, who noticed the incident, deliberately drove into them to stop their escape.
The impact caused the suspects to fall, effectively disrupting their getaway.

Amid the ensuing confusion, one of the suspected robbers managed to escape from the scene.
The other suspect, however, was overpowered and apprehended by residents who rushed in after realizing what had occurred.
The arrested suspect was subjected to mob action before police officers arrived to restore calm and take him into custody.
The stolen cash was later retrieved.

The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, while efforts are ongoing to track down the escaped accomplice.
Police have commended members of the public for their vigilance but cautioned against mob action, urging residents to hand suspects over to law enforcement to allow due process to take its course.
