Former MP for Yendi, Farouk Aliu Mahama, has reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Aliu Mahama family for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and 2024 NPP presidential candidate.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on Wednesday, January 21, he noted the deep bond between the family and Dr Bawumia.
“The Aliu Mahama family will always stand by Dr Bawumia,” Farouk Aliu Mahama stated. “He has been a consistent source of support and guidance for me, and we recognise his commitment to the party and the country.”
He recalled how his late father, Aliu Mahama, had a strong relationship with Dr Bawumia. “My late father always supported Dr Bawumia.
He made a strong case for him at the NEC when he was presented by then-candidate Akufo-Addo as his running mate and went around the country with him,” Farouk added.
Farouk Aliu Mahama said the family sees Dr Bawumia as a capable leader who has consistently honoured his commitments.
“Dr Bawumia has not left us and has held the family in high esteem. His guidance and support have been invaluable over the years,” he noted.
He concluded by stressing the family’s long-term commitment to supporting Dr Bawumia.
“We will continue to stand by him because he has always stood by us, and we believe in his vision for Ghana,” Farouk Aliu Mahama said.
