The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested three foreign nationals in connection with suspected SIM box fraud activities at the Sakumono Ramsar Site in Accra.
The arrests took place on Wednesday, January 21, following intelligence-led operations targeting residential apartments in the area.
The suspects have been identified as Timileyin Fakunle, 30; Begun Adedeji, 31; and Olamide Roheemot, 28, all of whom were apprehended in separate apartments.
During searches of the premises, police recovered sophisticated electronic gadgets, SIM boxes and numerous SIM cards, which are believed to have been used in the alleged fraudulent activities.

In interrogation, the suspects revealed the involvement of two other accomplices, known only as Mike and Kpalumi, who are currently at large.
They also indicated that the alleged leader of the group, Tomy, a Chinese national who reportedly remotely controls the SIM boxes, remains on the run.
Police confirmed that efforts are ongoing in collaboration with the National Communications Authority (NCA) to safely remove and technically examine the recovered equipment, which will support further investigations.
The suspects are currently in custody as inquiries continue.
Meanwhile, the Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned members of the public against renting or subletting properties to unknown individuals without proper verification.
Property owners and residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the Police.
The Command reiterated its commitment to combating cybercrime and telecommunication-related offences across the region, emphasising the importance of community cooperation in tackling such criminal activities.
